Background of the Summit

In recent years, new energy vehicle has become one of the important development directions of international auto industry, and also an important part of the auto industry development policy in our country. The government attaches great importance to the development of new energy, and constantly increase policy support for it. The Energy Saving and New Energy Auto Industry Development Plan issued by The State Council has also made its technical routes and development goals clearly, and especially put forward that the new energy auto cumulative production and sales volume will reach 500000 units in 2015 and 5000000 units in 2020.

But limited to the battery technology of new energy vehicles, infrastructure construction, high cost and other issues, there is still a big gap between the ideal and the reality of the development of new energy vehicles.

Internet of Vehicles has stepped into a rapid development stage and the automotive interaction system has become the main battlefield for the connection of vehicle and internet. The automotive OEMs,Tier1/2 firms ,and even those internet companies that want to involve into the auto industry have made research and development and achieved great breakthrough.

Under the trend that Internet Companies begins to put their eyes on the “Forth Screen”, what should the traditional auto manufacturing do by using internet thinking to improve the user’s experience and promote the upgrade and transformation of the automotive industry?

During Li Keqiang's visit to Germany in October, 2014, a Sino-German joint declaration: Action Programmed for Sino-German Cooperation: Jointly Pursuing Innovation, announced that the two countries will carry out the “Industry 4.0”Cooperation. The industry believes that the physics-based intelligent information system will lead human beings to the fourth industrial revolution in the coming 10 years, which is dominated by intelligent manufacturing.

In the “Industry 4.0”thinking wave, motor industry is also faced with upgrade and transformation. Currently, there emerges a new round of industrial revolution represented by information network, intelligent manufacturing and new materials.
