原东风锻造有限公司是由东风汽车有限公司与湖北东风汽车工业进出口有限公司共同出资，在原锻造厂的基础上（始建于1969年9月）改制成立，2005年1月8日正式挂牌运营。

根据国家“双百行动”计划，在东风汽车集团有限公司的指导下，结合各单位实际情况，2018年11月30日，东风商用车有限公司旗下原铸造一厂、铸造二厂、东风锻造有限公司及其子公司神力公司，四家单位正式合并成立新东风锻造有限公司。

公司主营业务：包括全系列铸件、锻件、机加工及模具的开发、生产、制造、销售、售后服务及原材料的销售等相关业务；通用设备研发、制造、销售及安装、维修、保养与相关技术服务；本公司生产所需要的物资进口和本公司生产的产品出口。
